Sean collaborates with each client to create a unique living space reflecting the individual aesthetic and functional needs. Clients are guided through each of the following three steps of the creative journey.
Initial Meeting: This is where the foundation for each project is determined. We assist the Client in articulating their personal aesthetic so we can guide them in a design direction that meets their style and functional needs. Other initial activities that inform the project and its scope include:
• Existing plan/home review
• Inventory of client’s furnishings, with discussions for incorporation or replacement in the new design scheme.
• Recommendations for and/or meetings with the rest of the project team (architect/contractor)
• Estimates for the project timeline and budget
Design Concept: The design concept is the synthesis of all input – where Sean creates the Client’s dream space from the information we have gleaned, melding their personality with our design vision and expertise. Depending on the scope of the project, the design concept will include:
• Spatial Designs –sketches and plans to convey new spaces, with floor plans, elevations and lighting plans as appropriate
• Aesthetic Design – furniture choices, fabric schemes, window and wall treatments, paint, finish options, art and accessories.
• The Client reviews and approves all elements of the design concept before the project moves forward.
Implementation/Installation: We collaborate with all of the players involved in the project in order to choreograph the timing of all aspects, for a turnkey and hassle free experience:
• Purchasing: We handle the purchasing and invoicing from multiple vendors, service providers and design sources – e.g. upholstery, fabricators, specialist finishers, and decorative painters.
• Project Management and on site reviews (for construction projects): We inspect the on-site progress and meet with the architect and/or contractor to ensure that the project is progressing according to plan and design intent.
• Final installation: We personally handle or supervise every aspect of the installation process, which includes furniture and rug placement, drapery and fixture installation and picture hanging to ensure that everything is carried out to the highest standard and according to the Client’s wishes.
